How to Read a Certificate of Analysis

Confirm document scope
Identify whether the record is a Certificate of Analysis, specification, storage note, or another supporting document. Confirm the issuer, document number, revision, and date.
Match identifiers
Compare material name, size, lot or batch reference, document date, and revision against the product label and intake record.
Review test rows
Look for the test name, method or reference, result, unit, and acceptance criterion when one is listed. Record missing or unclear fields instead of guessing.
